Singapore, May 8, 2025 – In a landmark application, Hongruntong's Pneumatic Rubber Fenders have been installed at PSA Singapore’s Tuas Mega Port to protect its newly operational 24-meter-deep berths servicing 24,000-TEU ultra-large container vessels. The 3.2-meter-diameter fenders, featuring patented 3-layer rubber compounding technology, demonstrate 42% higher energy absorption capacity compared to standard models when absorbing impacts from ships weighing over 200,000 deadweight tons.

"The fenders' pressure-monitoring system and quick-recovery design are critical for handling 8-10 vessel calls daily at our automated terminals," explained Mr. Tan, PSA’s Head of Marine Operations. Each 5-ton unit withstands 2.5-meter tidal variations while maintaining 95% shape memory after 10,000 compressions – a key requirement for the port’s 30-year infrastructure lifecycle. The deployment comes as global ports upgrade fender systems to handle new-generation vessels, with similar installations planned at Rotterdam and Long Beach ports in 2025.
